DESCRIPTION
This silver plated 1959 Selmer is an exemplary member of a rare breed of vintage horn. The silver finish is fantastically preserved, with only small areas of wear. Her bell exhibits no engraving, such unadorned simplicity being a bold statement in and of itself. The blue hallmark on the neck remains vivid and new. Medium bright throughout the range, with a solidly focused sound that at the same time resonates with generous, well-structured overtones, she instantly impresses with a unique, rich voice. Her mechanism responds with immediacy, inviting virtuoso passages, and the pads are in great condition, complimented by noyek resonators. A prestigious member of our collection, this horn exemplifies the tradition of the VI.
