Woodwind Co. HR .111" Tenor Sax "Niewood Reface" Steel Ebonite AN
This is a Woodwind Co. Steel Ebonite mouthpiece refaced by Adam Niewood to a .111, or approximately an 8. Woodwind Co. mouthpieces from this period have huge chambers, (even bigger than those of an Otto Link from the same period), giving them a dark, big, and husky sound, not dissimilar to Lovano. This piece is somewhat spread, and fills the room well; it has a high clamshell baffle (we can assume that Niewood added this), which would contribute to the projection. It’s a big piece of rubber, similar in size to Links of this period. A great vintage rubber piece! This could be the perfect piece for you; come check it out!
