Selmer Mark VI Tenor Saxophone #119,XXX

Product Description

This American assembled Mark VI is the real deal; it is one of the finest horns in the Mark VI room. A great example of a “closet horn” (a horn that sat in someone’s closet or under their bed for an extended period), this horn has been played very little: it’s practically in mint condition. If you ever wanted to break in a top-of-the-line Mark VI just like the greats did, this is your chance. This horn, in its sound and aesthetics, embodies the spirit and intent of the Mark VI.

The unmistakable character of the Mark VI defines this horn from top to bottom, and Roberto’s overhaul (with Hollywood resonators) makes this all the more true. The fact that the original 1964 lacquer is almost entirely still there (about 99%) gives the sound an exquisite flavor that very few people get to call their own. The 119,XXX’s lacquer is that beautiful dark brown that every modern horn producer is trying to imitate. The exposed brass under the engraving has turned a rich red, giving it a seasoned and mature look.
